Draws are now available in the Racing and Results section

Entries Extended
The event, which is taking place this coming Thursday (11th), will consist of side-by-side racing from the green bank to the cox’s stone, and is open to all 2nd and 3rd boats, and any crew currently placed in Men’s Divisions III-VII, or Women’s Divisions IV-VI in Summer Eights.

There are currently 4 spaces still left in the women’s VIII category, and 2 spaces left in the men’s VIII category, with entry at just £27. Any newly crews entered that were racing in klaxoned divisions on Saturday will be charged £20. We’re nice like that.

We’re also running concurrent categories for IV+s, with no eligibility restrictions, with entry at £11. If these categories are filled, we’ll be able to lower the cost of entry fees for the VIII events. I have extended the entry date and time to 23:55 tomorrow (8th March). Any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at edward.jacobs@balliol.ox.ac.uk.

Racing will take place from approximately 1100-1700, and to accommodate academic commitments, a number of first round races can be delayed until 1245- special pleading to the same e-mail.

Best,
Eddie Jacobs

Spring 2nds Regatta
Entries are now open for the Spring 2nds Regatta, a l’il opportunity for your 2nd VIIIs to experience some side-by-side racing – something they might not otherwise get to try. While it’s intended for 2nd VIIIs, if your 1st crew is positioned below the highest ranked 2nd VIII in Summer Eights (check here http://www.ourcs.org.uk/files/file/racing/e09/satend.pdf) you’re welcome to enter them too; in case there’s more entries than we can accommodate for, priority for places is given to crews higher up the chart.

The event will take place from 1100 on Thursday of 8th Week (11th March), with racing from the Green Bank to the Cox’s stone.
Given the novelty of the regatta, we’re erring on the side of caution as regards expected interest, limiting spaces to 16 VIIIs, and 8 IV+s each for men and women.
Categories currently open for entries –via the OURCs entry system– are:
Men’s and Women’s VIIIs, entry fee £27*
Men’s and Women’s IV+s, entry fee £11

Entries will close at 3pm on Sunday of 8th week (7th March), giving enough time for hangovers to clear up before putting in any drunkenly promised last minute entries. The IV+ categories are open, but will have to be filled to go ahead. *If less than 6 crews enter an IV+ event, we’ll scrap the category, but if the IV+ categories run, the entry fee for VIIIs will fall too. On Sunday we’ll announce who the places have been allocated to, and the exact cost of entries.

Prizes for the winning crews of each category, naturally.

I think that’s all the information needed at this point, but if you have any questions do ask, either by e-mailing me at edward.jacobs@balliol.ox.ac.uk, or by posting below- which will save me writing the same response over and over in case I’ve missed something obvious…
